Airports, a New Space for Design and Culture

More and more in recent years (excluding the COVID period), airports have transformed from places meant solely for transit into multicultural and multifunctional hubs, where people work, eat, shop, wait, and relax. It is no coincidence that architects and designers are making significant strides in creating customized spaces that are not only a symbol of a country's culture but also offer travelers a first-class experience of comfort and guest-focused design. • First Place: Hamad International Airport in Doha

Hamad International Airport in Doha, the capital of Qatar, was named Best Airport in the World at the latest 2021 World Airport Awards, where every centimeter, every feature, and every detail is designed to create the most luxurious lounge experience imaginable.

In second place is Tokyo Haneda International Airport, one of the busiest airports in the world and the busiest in Japan, located less than 30 minutes south of central Tokyo.

  • Third Place: Changi International Airport in Singapore

Located 23 km east of Singapore's city center, Changi International Airport is one of the most modern and comfortable airports in the world. Designed to accommodate the Airbus A380, it offers travelers a multitude of shops, a fitness center, a supermarket, a clinic, a business center, and the Crowne Plaza, connected to Terminal 3. So far nothing unique, but it doesn't end there: a waterfall, swimming pool, free cinemas for transit passengers, a water feature with numerous exotic fish, a butterfly garden, and a decorative orchid plantation.

  • Fourth Place: Fiumicino International Airport in Rome

We have to go down to 36th place to find an Italian airport in the ranking, and naturally, it could only be Rome Fiumicino. Recently, the airport has added a new international-quality service: the “Arrival Lounge & Air
